The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity (REDH), strongly rejects the aggressive escalation of the government of the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which is expressed in the illegal and shameless announcement of offering a reward for information that allows to violate the integrity of the legitimate and constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and condemns the unfounded and false accusations made by the Attorney-General of that country, Pamela Bondi, which claim to link him, without any evidence, with criminal organizations linked to drug trafficking.
In the face of such threats and violations of legality, we express our solidarity with President Nicolás Maduro, with the people and government of Venezuela, as well as with the militancy and leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, with communal and social power, with the entire socio-political compound of that country which is committed to the construction of peace as an axis of international relations and as a form of internal and external coexistence.
We strongly repudiate all forms of interference, coercion and incitement to violence that the Government of the United States imposes and promotes; and we warn against a new interventionist offensive against the Bolivarian Revolution. In recent days, a number of terrorist attacks, such as the one intended to be carried out at Plaza Venezuela in Caracas, were neutralized and stockpiles of weapons and explosives stocked for destabilizing purposes were discovered.
We demand respect for international norms that guarantee the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples as central elements of coexistence between countries.
We call on all peoples of the world, the peace and human rights movements to remain vigilant against intelligence operations, cognitive warfare and the like, that are deployed to generate disinformation and negatively influence public opinion about Venezuela.
We call on regional organizations and peace-defending bodies to take precautions against the life of President Nicolás Maduro, as the best way to decisively defend peace in Venezuela and the region, as expressed in the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace, of CELAC.
